Most men prefer a more prominent and powerful nose with distinctive features.
The ideal nose for male rhinoplasty may be different than for female rhinoplasty. The rhinoplasty patient should be prepared to be very clear about their aesthetic goals, and the surgeon should understand the characteristics of each gender.

Different characteristics of the Male and Female nose
Male
Thick skin which sits differently after surgery
Generally, men’s skin is thicker than women’s, with excess tissues and fat. Depending on the skin thickness, the skin sits differently on the nose. It alters the overall shape, so a different process of reshaping should be applied.
More prominent with a higher bridge and wider mid-nose width
Men’s facial bones are more structured. The nose is also more prominent and all features are more distinct than women’s.
Female
More defined and delicate
A female nose has thinner and softer skin. Additionally, the structure and the size of the cartilage and nasal bone are petite, so the female nose is more defined and delicate.
A subtle indentation along the bridge just above the tip
The ‘supratip break’, which is a subtle indentation slightly above the tip, makes the female nose more feminine.
Slightly shorter than a male nose
The nose itself is smaller than a male nose. The columella and the total length of the nose are also shorter than the male nose.
CDU Know-How for Satisfactory Male Rhinoplasty
Profile View
1. A straight profile from the eyebrow bone to the tip of the nose
The tip of the nose may be less rotated, with the angle between the upper lip and the nose falling at 90-95 degrees. In comparison, women prefer a more petite nose with a more upwardly rotated tip.
2. A naturally connected radix from the eyebrow bone
The main feature of the male nose is a distinct and higher bridge than the female nose. While the female nose is gently connected from the eyebrows to the bridge, the male nose may have a stronger contour.
3. Voluminous tip
If the tip of the nose has less volume, the nose appears feminine and unbalanced on the male face. The tip may not be too thick, but it should have enough volume, giving him/her a masculine look.
4. The appropriate nasolabial angle between 90-95 degrees
The nasolabial angle alters the character of the face. The most appropriate angle of the male nose is about 90-95 degrees, while for a female nose it is about 95-105 degrees.
Frontal View
1. The columella should not be too short
2. Distinctive T-zone & thick bridge
For a powerful and masculine character, the width of the nose should be slightly thicker and straighter than the female nose.
3. The alar base should not be too wide, giving a sophisticated look.
When the alar base is wider than usual, the nose may look less defined and dull. By reducing the alar base, the nose becomes sharper and more attractive.
Q&A About Short Nose
Exercise is helpful for deswelling and fast recovery. So, strolling is recommended from two to three days after rhinoplasty. Swimming, diving, yoga, and weight-lifting, which can cause sweating or put pressure on the nose, should be done from two months after rhinoplasty.
No, it can be fixed. To understand the condition of the nose, find a rhinoplasty expert and a clinic that provides an in-depth examination with a three-dimensional CT analysis. To achieve the desired result, it is also helpful to inform your surgeon about details of the accident and your needs.
